I was born in western Kansas, but the town and hospital I was born in was blown away by probably the largest tornado the nation has ever known. The Great Plains are my home and I love them.

My parents were restless people and we never stayed in a town longer than three years. They finally settled down, but I kept on.

I have an education in English. 'Nuff said.
